'87 SE

Hi =] I just got my car back, after it being in a mechanic's home garage for about a year. It's a 1987 Honda Prelude SE. I bought it for $300 a while ago. It had a big crack in one part of the engine, and a *ahem* mouse problem. After I bought it, I had it towed home, and basically just cleaned it up. That's all I really could do. I found around.. 7 dead mice. They'd made a little home inside the spare tire in the back, as well as in the carburetor.

All that's a thing of the past though. The broken engine parts have been repaired, and it's toting a new carburetor as well.

All that's left to do is fix a bit of rust around the rear wheels, and to fix some paint on the passenger side that's started to flake off. There's also two tares in the driver's seat due to mice, and the engine doesn't like to idle.

I think even with all it's little faults and problems, it's a great car. It's quite surprisingly fast as well. The interior is excellent. I love it.

And now on to your favorite part, photos!

The inside is comfy and there's a surprising amount of quality. Everything is 100% minus the two tares in the driver's seat.

No fartcan muffler here. My baby's quiet as a dodo bird. Despite the tiny little exhaust, she accelerates smoother than a brazilian bikini wax. 60mph in 3rd isn't a problem.

I've never had a car with pop-up headlights before. Whenever I pass by a pretty girl, I flip 'em up and down. Usually she gets in the car right away, nude. "OHHH! WHAT SEXY HEADLIGHTS YOU HAVE!" then comences the lovin'. Yeah.

If anyone has any tips on how to get the engine to idle, I'd appreciate it!

Playing with the idle screw doesn't do much. It will make the car idle higher, but it still dies down. It's quite picky. Sometimes it idles, sometimes it decides not to.

My mechanic friend plugged up two hoses for some reason or another. I.. wasn't.. paying attention when he was telling me why. Something about a sensor... heh heh.

I tried some seafoam, thinking the idle jet is plugged, but two bottles later, no results.

It's still quite drivable, just whenever you push in the clutch, you gotta bring out your inner ballerina. Left foot clutch, right foot brake, gas, braaaaake, gas, gas, gas, gas. It's just like that secret lives code on Contra for nintendo. mmmhmm

I won't tell you if you're going to steal my woman...you'll wind up

Ok, with the joking out of the way, after reading your story, I was expecting a run down pile of junk, but that is amazing.

Super clean, and shiny red paint, just like the early girls should look like. Is that spoiler factory? Haven't seen one of them before.

Re: '87 SE

I'm sure it is. A wild guess-- the SE had different wheels and a spoiler?

The rust will be fixed in a few days, no worries.

Ah, my mistake. Here's some robot porn.

That would be one of the two plugged hoses. As you can see, someone used this car as a golf kart. Though I think that hose may be an essential part of the flux capacitator, which may be why she doesn't like to idle.

Re: '87 SE

i believe that diaphram on the air box controls a flap that opens and closes and blocks air flow. could be your idle problem.
