My Alarm Install - 4th Gen

this goes along with my DIY thread about removing the 4th gen (92) dash.Here.

*edit* And Here Is My Technical Write up of the wiring/installation.

If anyone knows anything about me... I tend to go overboard and think things through to the point of ridiculous... and when I get a thought in my mind.. .look out.... :loltard:
I thought I was OCD... come to find out, my therapist tells me I am just a woman! HA!

The way I went about installing my alarm was to study the wirring, routing of, and general consensus of how Honda wires a car... well in 1992 anyways. There was a LOT of split loom and black tape wrapped wires. *Check.*
Wire ties used to secure (look at the yellow split loom...that is factory ABS equipment zip tied to the structure) *Check*
tight quarters and open spaces where an alarm can be found easily...*damn*
Tons of dirt up to 17 years old...*sigh*

well...out comes the dash--- YUP! ripped it right outta there! :bat:
Thank Gawd Jaclynn and Gwen Showed up... I know I would have broke something taking it out had they not.

"officer, I woke up and my car was totalled.. they took the radio and the dash and everything!" :slaphead: LOL!!!!!! :hilarious:

The picture was clear... I was a little fuzzy that day:

After we got back from dinner.... I went out and measured everything and decided where the goodies were gonna go. Then, thank you to insomnia, I prepared as much of the wire as I could.

thats some of my wiring in the split loom behind the ECU... I ran the door locks, door pin sensor, siren, and tachometer sensing wire up through the fender and out under neath the fuse box. You may remember the previous owner had run 4awg welding wire through here? I also placed the horn/siren down in that lil cubby... there is absolutely NO WAY to get to it without removing and fuse panel. I have challenged two peopel to find it, I even set it off so they could hear it, and so far, no one has found the location.

this is the handy little junction box for half of the dash wiring and the door locks etc.

took a break to go say goodbye to my visiting girlfriend...
Say Hello to Ingrid.

Back to work...More split loom and taped wires...in this picture are four of my runs plus three factory. Again, my goal was to completely blend in my install.

The alarm brain and a hint of the starter solenoid block can be seen in this picture.. the solenoid block was secured with zip ties and a hose clamp to the Steering columns support tube.. the alarm brain was a little more difficult. Where it is sitting in this picture is where the speedo and tach gauges reside...by cutting a little of the ABS on the back of the dash, I found I had about 3 inches, give or take, of depth. What this means is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get to from under the dash, BUT, for servicing, I can take out 10 screws, remove the speedo box, and there it is. No, I did not take pictures of it. I'm sharing enough arent I?
