New to pz. Have 1st gen mint cond want to restore..help?

hey everybody!
I just joined today. word.
Ive inherited my fathers prelude which has 238,000 miles!
We wanted to begin the restoration process, i.e. wheels. paint. body work. dash. drivetrain. ect.
This car has the Original Engine AND Transmission. Its a 5-Speed straight drive vehicle, so maybe that explains the longevity...?
Anyway, if anyone knows what types of aftermarket parts are appropriate, PLEASE give us some info!

I will be posting pictures of the car soon!

Cool -- well-preserved 1st gens are hard to find.

1st gens had pretty limited aftermarket support when they were new -- in fact, the only place I can think of was an outfit in New England that folded in the late '80s. You might look for similar vintage Accord parts, though -- most of the engine is common with the Accord (IIRC, the EK engine has a different head), and much of the suspension as well -- just arranged slightly different. Even some Civic parts may fit -- the chassis is a modified Civic floor pan.

you might be able to find some parts on ebay, but I don't know of any aftermarket sites off hand.

OP, I know this isn't pertinent to your thread but nice name choice man. Mammal Sauce is a friggin awesome song, if anyone reading this thread hasn't heard it you should google it and commence to jigglin.

Props on the clean 1st gen. With the amount of help you will need you might want to hit up on some other prelude enthusiast websites like PP, PO, etc. to get the most help you can. Some people registered on those sites don't goto others, I use all 3.

Back to the topic at hand... Clean ass 1st gen. Looks like all you need is a repaint or a good buffing, to refinish the wheels, and keep on truckin'.
