Would you buy a 1979 Prelude for $300?

So it's 3:40am and I can't sleep. So what do I do? Think of a "new" car to buy. I like the old school 1st gen prelude and by chance came across one for sale. First time I have ever thought about a first gen prelude. Use to own a 93 Prelude VTec, now drive a 2010 accord coupe... Here's the question... Is it worth $300 obo for this? For a later project.. I guess. Haha

Quoted from the ad I found:

"1979 Honda Prelude
Selling as parts/project car. Engine runs, transmission is bad, body is fair, interior is rough.
Lots of good parts or potential for a restoration. 89xxx on the odometer.
Selling as is, no smog will be provided. Make me an offer.
I'm not interested in parting out the car, please don't ask for specific parts."

the major problem is you will have a HELL of a time finding parts for it.

Hmm. I am assuming that you are from the US that's why you are having a hard time sourcing the parts. I think you should get it since its so cheap. I would get it if I can, but from where I come from, we have plenty of 1st Gen ludes running around including the one I own. Its fairly easy to maintain as everything is mechanical and it did not take me long to get it up and running. So Yes, please proceed. :)

Cheers,
Angelus.
