My new 1980 lude :)

Just purchased myself a "new" prelude 1980...
I am going to totally refurbish the car... But it doesn't look that bad today either.... :)

The two last pictures is the only visible rust on the outside of the car... (exept some inside the engine bay...)

FastFWD

OH btw.... the mirrors are NOT original.... and i have allready ordered a new BLACK carpet from ebay..

not bad how much you pick that up for. are you goin to keep the same engine or drop something with a bit more balls in it.

Re: My new 1980 lude :)

Hello

I paid 1800$ for it...

Regarding the engine.. i dont know if i'll change it to something more powerful, or just tune it ....
Since it is almost 30 years old, i lean against keeping it totally original... but time will show..

Have searched around to see if i can find any treads about "engine change" on this model - but no luck..

If anyone has a good link lying around regarding engine change on this make and model - i would be happy if you posted it in this tread :)

The engine is a 1751cc (1,8 litres), and it delivers a whopping 72HP...

Yes, i will keep posting pics of the restoration....
Have found a spare engine, that only has 87000 km on it.. Dont know the price yet... but time will show..

Re: My new 1980 lude :)

Purchased an new carpet for the car on ebay from

http://stores.ebay.com/B-V-AUTOMOTIVE-SUPPLY

Molded from an original Prelude 1980 ... with the heelpad in place...
And in black.... of course...

I'm not sure, but i think the red carpet was a option... Does anybody know ?
(My first Prelude 1980 had black carpets...)

Looking forward to get this package..
